My name is Celia Becker and i’ve been creating art since I was very young, but discovering glass at a later age was a happy accident. I ended up falling in love with it and eventually dedicating my life to the medium. Glass was extremely difficult and there was never a dull moment. It was a meditative high. When I’m at the bench, there is no room for other troubles to coexist.
My work is colorful, bubbly, and lighthearted. I prefer creating soft and welcoming forms that invite users to enjoy the playful style of my art. I care about making technically proficient glasswork that is well made and functional. My goal is to make silly pieces that are so well done you can’t deny the skill it took to make them. It’s my artistic and personal choice to make work that is humble, genuine and fun. I see my glass work as a rebellion against arrogant glassholes.
